BESEN , leading the EV charging to a better way!
THE CHALLENGE
We have encountered a strange case before. It was a German project. The customer purchased a three-phase 11kW wallbox which is a very popular model in Germany because it not only satisfies the current limit of 24A in most household circuits in Germany, but also meets the need for high-speed charging. However, after installation, the customer found that the wallbox always charged with two phases only and the current of the other phase stayed at 0A, which led to inefficient charging.
THE SOLUTION
Upon receiving the feedback, we arranged for professionals to provide technical assistance. In fact, this is a very typical case and it is largely because the customer did the wiring by himself. However, due to the lack of electrical expertise and unskilled operation, which is often the case for most customers, one of the three live wires of the charging station had been connected to the neutral or ground wire of the power distribution box, so there was no current passing through this live wire and finally the wallbox could only charge with two phases.
So, when there is something wrong with the charging, how should you judge whether it is caused by the charging station or the incorrect wiring? Here, Besen provides you with a small tip: check whether the problematic live wire has voltage or not. If there is voltage on it, it means that the charging station itself has no problem and that the fault is basically caused by the wrong wiring during installation. In order to solve the problem, users only need to send for a professional electrician to recheck the wiring and then reconnect the charging station.
