Charging Stations Installed In Extremely Cold Climates

THE CHALLENGEThis is a project in Norway. The local temperatures there can be as low as -30℃. At such a low temperature, conventional TPE or TPU cables can become hard and difficult to use, even crack easily, creating safety hazards. Why a current-switchable charger failed to switch the current?

CHALLENGE:We recently received some feedback from an American user about the functionality of his 16/32A switchable charger which had been charging his car at only 16A since it couldn’t be switched to 32A. So it took the customer a long time to charge his car each time. He believed that our charger was somehow defective and contacted the manufacturer of the charger, BESEN.

Why a three-phase EV charger with a three-phase EV cable could not charge the car also with three-phase current?

ChallengeThis is a case from France. Our customer Calvin purchased our 22kW wallbox with socket and used it with our 22kW EV charging cable. His experience was very good. Since he bought the same electric car for his grandfather who lives in the countryside, so he also chose the same EV charger and cable of Besen for his grandfather. Calvin lives far away from his grandfather, so there is no way to visit him often. After the product arrived and used for a period of time, Calvin went to visit his grandfather. But he accidentally discovered that when his grandfather was charging his own electric car, the EV charger could only charge the car only at 7kW, so he emailed us.

Why do the EV charger only charge my car with low current?

Challenge：This is a case from Israel. Adam often travels in Europe. After comparing several EV charger brands, he chose Besen's portable EV charger PCD050, which is equipped with multiple adapters so as to be compatible with both single-phase and three-phase charging. But after using it normally for a certain period of time, a problem occurred. During a business trip, Adam needed to charge an EV that supported three-phase charging at a maximum of 16A, so he set the current of the EV charger to 13A 3P, but the charging current of the PCD050 was only 1.7A. Adam checked the car charging settings and didn’t find any problems. He was very anxious because this problem had never happened before, so he immediately contacted us.
