How Dynamic Load Balancing & Solar Charging Work Together
BESEN’s solution uses CT-based energy monitoring hardware to monitor household electricity consumption and available solar power. Based on the configured electrical limits and selected charging mode, compatible EV chargers automatically increase, reduce or temporarily pause the charging current as energy conditions change.
This provides distributors, installers and charging-solution providers with a configurable option for residential projects involving limited electrical capacity, grid draw restrictions or photovoltaic systems. Relevant energy modes and settings can be configured and monitored through the EVSE Pro app.
*Available functions depend on the selected charger configuration and supporting energy-management hardware.
Dynamic Load Balancing for Residential Charging
When used with the required CT-based monitoring hardware, the system monitors household electricity consumption and automatically adjusts the EV charger’s current to keep the total load within the configured main circuit limit.
When high-power appliances increase household demand, the charger can reduce its charging current. When electricity consumption decreases, the available charging current can increase again without requiring manual adjustment during normal operation.
- Standard Mode: Automatically adjusts EV charging according to the available electrical capacity of the home.
- Grid Restriction Mode: Limits EV charging according to the configured maximum current that can be drawn from the grid
These modes help installers and charging-solution providers adapt residential EV charging to different household capacities and grid supply conditions.

Solar Charging for Photovoltaic-Equipped Homes
With the required energy-monitoring hardware, compatible charger configurations can respond to available solar surplus and adjust the EV charging current according to the selected solar charging mode.
This allows distributors, installers and charging-solution providers to offer different charging strategies for residential projects with photovoltaic systems.
- Pure Solar Mode: Uses available solar surplus without drawing power from the grid. Charging may slow down or temporarily pause when the available solar surplus decreases.
- Hybrid Mode: Prioritizes available solar power and uses grid power when required to maintain the configured minimum charging current.
In Hybrid Mode, the Grid Floor setting defines the minimum charging current that can be supported by grid power when available solar power is insufficient.

Dynamic load balancing adjusts the available EV charging current according to household or site electricity demand and the configured grid limit. This helps reduce the risk of exceeding the available electrical capacity while charging an electric vehicle.
Compatible configurations can adjust EV charging according to the available solar power and selected operating mode. The required charger configuration and supporting energy-management hardware should be confirmed for each project.
EVSE Pro includes Standard and Grid Restriction modes for compatible dynamic load balancing configurations. Pure Solar and Hybrid modes are available for compatible configurations that support both dynamic load balancing and solar charging.
Pure Solar mode is designed to charge the vehicle using available solar power, subject to the operating requirements of the selected configuration. Hybrid mode can combine available solar power with grid electricity according to the configured settings.
No. Function availability depends on the charger model, selected configuration and supporting hardware. Please refer to the compatible product section or contact BESEN to confirm the appropriate configuration for your project.
Compatibility with an existing solar PV system depends on the electrical setup, selected charger configuration and required energy-management hardware. Project information should be reviewed before the product configuration is confirmed.
Yes. The charger and supporting electrical equipment should be installed and configured by a qualified electrician in accordance with the product documentation and applicable local requirements.
